Bernie is an Auckland-based facilitator and educator with over 25 years’ experience working with people in organisational growth and development. Building strong communities within many sectors of the schooling and business environments is a high priority, with the focus on improving outcomes by promoting good communication and relationships.
One of Bernie’s strengths is team building and she has had an integral part in building the community spirit in local businesses. Her involvement in coordinating community events has contributed to fostering a close-knit and innovative environment, resulting in increased revenue for business owners.
Bernie also works with education leaders and senior management teams to evaluate and improve their practices. She also supports schools in collecting and analysing data that best informs teaching and learning.
Bernie is a lecturer at the Auckland University Faculty of Education and a teacher at The Northern Health School. She has experience with the Peace Foundation, training teachers in the Cool Schools conflict resolution programme. She also uses a values-based curriculum with students and health care teams to facilitate growth and development.
