Use of our Intellectual Property

By Tetramap_Admin

The most important point about purchasing and using our publications is that TetraMap International Limited owns the copyright on all of them. All rights are reserved.

Copyright and intellectual property rights are a huge subject. This page is limited to answering some of the most common questions that people ask. We’ve broken our FAQs into two parts: one for those who purchase our resources in the course of their commercial activities professional users of our resources and the other for those who are introduced to our resources during training, other users of our resources.

Professional users of our resources

Q. Can I photocopy some of the pages in the Workbooks to distribute to additional participants?

A. We do not permit photocopying of Workbook materials under any circumstance. If you copy our resources it means that we don’t get to share in the value of our own work! If you are going to be short of Workbooks, please order some more, or contact us if it is an urgent need so that we can discuss how best to help you.

Q. If I don’t have enough Workbooks for all the participants in my workshop, could I allow some of them to share Workbooks?

A. It is important to us that individuals using our materials have a quality experience as they explore the TetraMap® model. If you share or re-use Workbooks, this detracts from that experience, and it prevents you from returning a completed instrument for every workshop participant. It also means that again, we don’t share in the value of our work. Please order more Workbook copies for your workshop, or if it is an urgent need, please contact us so that we can discuss how best to help you.

Q. Can I scan or copy any of TetraMap’s resources to, or store them on a computer?

A. Not unless you obtain our permission in writing first, except for Downloadable Resources. These are intended for your individual use, to support your facilitated training. You may save these files to your own computer for your own use during training sessions.

Q. I’d like to write about the TetraMap® model, or use it in a presentation I am making. Can I do that?

A. Only if you get our written permission first. Note that:

  • The word TetraMap® is trademarked in a number of countries
  • You must include the registered trademark symbol and the statements:
Developed with permission from the copyright holder, TetraMap International www.tetramap.com.
TetraMap® is a registered trademark of TetraMap International in NZ and other countries
    .
  • You may not use the trademark TetraMap® in the main title or heading of a workshop, presentation, handout or other documents that you create, as this may create the perception that TetraMap International Limited created your material (or is paying you to run the workshop). However, you are welcome to use the terms Four Elements or Why Are You Like That?, and you may use the word TetraMap® in subheadings and descriptive text.

Q. I have a question not covered here. What should I do?

A. Please contact us.

Other users of our resources

Q. I have bought one of TetraMap’s publications. May I photocopy or scan some of it?

A. You may not copy any of our publications in any way (for example, by photocopying or scanning it) without our prior written permission.

Q. I have been given a TetraMap® Workbook during a training workshop. I’d like to share the questionnaire (or instrument). Can I take just one or two copies to do that?

A. Absolutely not! We would view that as an infringement of our copyright, but:

  • If you are interested in sharing the TetraMap® model with others, talk to your Training Manager or mention this to your Training Facilitator, as further copies or Workbooks will be needed. This will ensure that the original authors of this material will also get to share in the benefits of their work!
  • If you’ve received your copy through a facilitated training session, it’s also important that your training facilitator collects a completed instrument for all participants and returns it to us.

In any other circumstance, please contact us so that we can discuss how we can help you.

Q. I have enjoyed the TetraMap® experience and I’d like to write about it, or mention it in a presentation I am making. Can I do that?

A. Of course, and we’d be delighted, as long as you do not explain any of the TetraMap content. Note that, the word TetraMap® is trademarked, so:

  • You must include the registered trademark symbol and the statement
  • TetraMap® is a registered trademark of TetraMap International in NZ and other countries,www.tetramap.com
  • You must not use the word TetraMap in the main title or heading of a workshop, presentation, handout or other documents that you create, as this may create the perception that TetraMap International Limited created your material (or is paying you to run the workshop). However, you are welcome to use the terms Four Elements or Why Are You Like That?, and you may use the word TetraMap® in subheadings and descriptive text.

Q. I have a question not covered here. What should I do?
